Happy New year SCN and Happy New Excel with abap2xlsx

Dear community, it was in the far July 2011 that I gave you updates on the abap2xlsx project with the reporting of my adventures at SAP Inside Track in Chicago (blog). In the last weeks, I had the idea to write a blog and few days ago a great present by SAP Mentor Gregor Wolf to the project (I will give you more detail below, keep reading) gave me the final sprint to be there on time for the New Year celebration.
Abap2xlsx is still the most popular project on Code Exchange with more than 3,500 downloads and close to 300 members. There is a great interest for this project, discussion board on Code Exchange is very hot, many people are asking and helping and many members are contributing (thanks you all) to improve this project adding new features and fixing some bugs ( yes, we had some 
).

Finally I found some time in order to write this blog and tell you guys my adventure on the road to SAP Inside Track in Chicago. I said adventure, it was not a mistake, it was really a time battle to be on time for my presentation.
The journey
Let start from the beginning, I planned to depart from Milan Italy on early morning of 14th July in order to arrive in Chicago at 2 AM of the same day and have the possibility to take my rest before the event.
But this is what I planned; unfortunately my journey was not so easy.

On 15th July 2011 SAP Inside Track of Midwest will be on stage and would you join us?
I will be there as a presenter with a session on abap2xlsx.
How many do not know this project?
If you do or not this is a unique opportunity to have a live presentation and discuss directly with me and other atteendees.
I will introduce abap2xlsx idea giving you a complete view of what is behind this tool, what are the advantages and what we can do to improve it.
Session is not only a presentation but I would like to use as much as I can live demos in order to give you a direct view of the features and how simple is the implementation.

SAP Mentor Thomas Jung will present live in streaming on entusiastic session called “Sneak Peak Of New ABAP Functionality in NetWeaver 7.31/7.03“, I will not say nothing more. I’m so courios!!!
Many others SAP Mentors are there: Gingler Gatling, Bhanu Gupta, Michelle Crapo and Tammy Powlas and several SCN valuable members.

Yes, finally we reached the next level!
abap2xlsx is close to its first birthday and we are celebrating our 100th member on the project.
On Friday May 13th, 2011 (it is not a bad day) we reached the goal of 100th members and we would like to have fun publishing the new stable release of abap2xlsx: Release 4.0.
What is new on this release?
- Manage all type of data validation
- Worksheet gridlines on/off
- Add images from MIME repository
- Add support to other coloring options
- Add support to hidden sheets
- Add support to sheet hide zeros property
- Reader reads styles
- Diagonal border
- Demo reports collection improvements
- Many code improvements
- Bug fixing
